In what might have been their best performance of the season, the Decorah Viking girls bowling squad defeated Tripoli 2,456 to 2,217 Friday at Oneota Lanes in Decorah.
The victory came after a tough loss at Charles City, but the girls team was able to rebound, with five out of the six bowlers having two game totals over 300 pins. Said head coach Keith Bruening following the games, "We still miss too many easy spares, so we'll go back and practice."
The girls junior varsity improved to 6-0, with Hannah Schnitzler bowling a 304, Katelyn Christensen having a 297 and sophomore Sydney Hageman bowling a 267.
