A slow start by the Decorah Viking boys basketball team Tuesday night in Waukon proved to be too much to overcome. The Vikings trailed by nine points after the first quarter, 20-11, and by 15 points at halftime, 41-26.
Decorah played even with the Indians in the second half, but it wasn't enough to overcome the slow start and Decorah dropped a 78-65 decision to fall to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the NEIC.
Jacob Pipho led the Vikings with 16 points, with three Decorah players adding nine points each--Briggs Duwe, Addae Whitsitt and Joseph Bockman.
Decorah will travel to Fayette on Saturday to take on Wapsie Valley as part of the Upper Iowa University Shootout.
