Decorah Viking girls basketball team notches its fourth straight victory

The Decorah Viking girls basketball team shut out the Oelwein Huskies in the first half of a game Tuesday in Decorah.

The Vikings led 40-0 entering the halftime break and wound up winning 65-18.

Three Vikings scored in double figures: Bryar Duwe had 18 points, Abby Milburn had 12 points and Kylie O'Hara added 10 points.  Decorah sank 17 2-point baskets, six 3-point baskets and 13 free throws en route to ending with 65 points.

Head Coach Shannon Quandahl said after the game, "We have had a nice run here in the last four games.  We continue to strive to improve with each practice and game.  The girls are beginning to work well with one another and share the basketball for a true team effort."

Next up for the Vikings will be a road trip to Waverly Friday night to take on the GoHawks, who are 5-0 in the NEIC and 9-2 overall.  Decorah is 5-1 in the NEIC and 8-2 overall.
