Boys basketball team beats Charles City at home Friday night

Home court was an advantage for the Decorah Viking boys basketball squad on Friday night as the Vikes took care of Charles City, 65-38.
The two sides were relatively close in the first half, with Decorah holding a 34-27 lead into the break. But the Vikings turned up the defense in the second half, allowing only 11 points to the Comets, while putting in 31 points. Decorah led 47-37 at the end of the third quarter, but outscored the Comets 18-1 in the final quarter.
Five Decorah players scored in double digits--Jacob Pipho, Charlie Robinson, Joe Bockman, Mason O'Hara and Addae Whitsitt. Bockman was the highest scorer with 16 points.
Decorah is now 5-3 overall and 4-1 in the Northeast Iowa Conference.
