The Cresco Crestwood girls basketball program has been on a roll in recent years, with several State Tournament appearances.  However, the program is encountering atypical adversity this season, going winless in nine games.

On Tuesday night the Decorah Viking girls basketball team easily handled the Cadets, winning a 65-16 victory in Cresco. Decorah led 16-1 after the first quarter, 27-7 at halftime and 43-12 after the third quarter.  The Vikings outscored Crestwood 22-4 in the final quarter to register the 49-point victory.

Eight Vikings entered the scoring column Tuesday night, led by Yazmeen Whitsitt with 13 points.  Emma Neirgarten added 12 points, while Bryar Duwe scored 10.

"This was a solid performance by all members of our team on both the offensive and defensive ends," said head coach Shannon Quandahl.   Decorah is now 5-2 on the season and will travel to Charles City on Friday night to take on the 2-6 Comets.
