A talented West Delaware team was too much for the Decorah Viking girls bowling team on Tuesday at home at Oneota Lanes.  West Delaware outscored Decorah, 2,712 to 2,462 to give Decorah its first loss of the season.  Decorah is now 4-1.

The loss came despite good performances from several Viking bowlers.  Grace Gerleman led Decorah by rolling a 160 and a 240 for 400 points.  Katelyn Christensen had a 167 and 171 for 338 points.  Other Decorah scores were Lexie Hauber with a 154 and 146 for a 300; Paige Lange with a 147 and 122 for a 269; Lily Iverson with a 152 and 118 for a 270; and Rebecca Bruening with a 140 abd 111 for a 251.

"We ran into a very, very good team," said head coach Keith Bruening following the match.  "We showed a lot of improvement on our spares," he added.

The Viking junior varsity remained undefeated, improving to 4-0.  The Viking JV were led by Chloe Jensen with a 308 and Moriah Grinna with a 296.
