The Decorah Viking girls basketball team trailed the Waukon Indians by just two points at the end of the first quarter at home on Tuesday night.  But the Indians put the clamps on the Viking offense in the second quarter, allowing only four points by Decorah, and took a 31-17 lead into the halftime locker room.

Decorah came back in the third and fourth quarter--somewhat--but not enough to enter the win column.  The final score was Waukon 61, Decorah 50.

"Waukon played a solid game," said Viking head coach Shannon Quandahl.  "They exposed our weaknesses and capitalized on our mistakes," she added.  Quandahl is hoping the Vikings can build on some of the "really good things" they did, especially in the second half.

Decorah will get an opportunity to turn things around Thursday night against Turkey Valley in Jackson Junction.  Decorah now has a record of three wins and one loss.
