The Decorah Viking girls bowling squad traveled to Oelwein on Friday--only to learn the Huskies were forfeiting their match.
That didn't matter, however, because the Vikings got in some good practice games. The Viking were led by senior captains Moriah Grinna and Annika Lensch. Moriah rolled a 352, while Annika rolled a 338. Decorah's Lexie Hauber rolled a 148 and 156 for a 304 total; Grace Gerleman had a 133 and 144 for a 277 total; Lily Iverson had a 149 and a 119 for a 278 total and Rebecca Bruening rolled a 131 and 124 for a 255 total.
"It's tough to keep your energy level high when you don't bowl against anyone!" noted head coach Keith Bruening. He said after the session that the team needs to hit the head pin more consistently and make the proper adjustments.
Decorah is now 3-0 on the season and will face Denver at home at the Oneota Lanes on Thursday, December 18th at 4:00 p.m.
