This year's Decorah Viking girls cross country squad continued the success of past teams, extending the streak of State Meet appearances to 15 years in a row.

The Viking girls finished 14th at State, with #1 runner Rebecca Anderson finishing in 5th place individually, with a time of 19:05.5.

Looking ahead to next year, Anderson is a sophomore, so she will return, as will fellow sophomore Madison Tollefson and juniors Abby Halverson and Kryia Atwell.  The Vikings had a large junior varsity squad this year, so there will be plenty of candidates for the other two spots on the varsity squad.

Said Viking head coach Cristy Nimrod, "I am proud of the effort our kids had all season. It was a season of a lot of unknowns, but they took advantage of being together every day."
