Decorah Viking boys cross country team finishes 6th at State Meet

The Decorah Viking Boys Cross Country Team ran at the Iowa High School Class 3A Championships in Fort Dodge on Friday afternoon, extending a streak of consecutive appearances by a Decorah boys cross country squad to 17 years.

The 2020 Viking boys cross country team finished 6th out of 15 teams in the meet.  Dallas Center-Grimes took first with 87 points, followed by Solon, Carlisle, Pella, North Polk and Decorah.

Individually, senior Brady Hogan led the Vikings, finishing 4th with a time of 16:12.4.  Junior Arlo Hayes earned 28th place with a time of 17:19.3; junior Hogan Smith finished 38th with a time of 17:23.6; junior Bennett Schutte was 50th with a time of 17:37.9; senior Noah Lovelace finished 53rd with a time of 17:39.2; junior Izaak Eichinger finished 70th with a time of 17:50.8 and junior Larsson Shockey finished 71st with a time of 17:53.1.  All but Hogan and Lovelace will return to next year's team as seniors.
