It was a good day for a run Tuesday in Calmar and the Decorah Viking boys responded by winning the 11-team South Winneshiek Invitational.
The first three runners to cross the finish line were Vikings and all seven Viking runners placed in the top 20.
Brady Hogan took the individual title, crossing the finish line in 16:22.77. Noah Lovelace came in second with a time of 17:29.89; Izaak Eichinger finished third with a time of 17:36.33, while Hogan Smith came in fifth with a time of 17:43.04.
Decorah's Arlo Hayes took ninth place, crossing the finish line in 17:51.73. Decorah's Larsson Shockey finished 11th with a time of 17:52.63, while Bennett Schutte finished 18th with a time of 18:34.40.
Next up for the Vikings--the Northeast Iowa Conference Championships on Tuesday, October 13th, in Cresco.
