The Decorah Viking girls cross country team had four of the top ten runners at the Waukon Invitational on Tuesday, taking a first place finish at the nine-team meet.
Decorah's Rebecca Anderson was the meet medalist, crossing the finish line in a time of 19:28.9. Decorah's Leila Johnson came in 4th overall with a time of 21:49.5. Taryn Sanderman finished 6th with a time of 22:06.8; Sam See was 9th with a time of 22:17.5; and Abby Halverson was 21st with a time of 23:22.3. Kryia Atwell finished 23rd with a time of 23:29.8 and Mairi Sessions finished in 24:31.0, good for 31st place.
The Vikings had 41 points as a team, beating Starmont, which finished second with 79 points. North Fayette Valley, Turkey Valley, Crestwood, Lansing Kee, Waukon, MFL/MarMac and New Hampton rounded out the finishes.
