The Decorah Viking volleyball team faced off against two of the top volleyball teams in Iowa on Saturday at the Waterloo West Invitational.

While the results were what you might have expected, the Vikings were able to salvage their third match and remain above .500.

In game one, Decorah lost to 15-3 Hudson by scores of 21-12 and 21-10.  The Vikings then had to face 12-2 Cedar Falls, which won 21-8 and 21-10.

That left one final match on Saturday--against Don Bosco, which had a similar record to the Vikings.  Decorah came out a winner, beating Don Bosco 23-21 and 21-16.

Decorah will return to action at home Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. against New Hampton.  The Chickasaws have an identical record as the Vikings--six wins and five losses.  Decorah is ahead of New Hampton in the NEIC, however, having won its first two conference matches.
