The American Rivers Conference is revising its plans for its fall sports season.

The conference's Presidents Council, made up of the college presidents of all the conference schools, has voted to postpone football, women's and men's soccer, and volleyball to spring 2021. The conference will move forward with fall competition in women's and men's cross country, women's golf, and women's tennis.

"Our coaches support this decision, while acknowledging the disappointment that it will cause for our students," said Luther Athletic Director Renae Rost-Hartl.

Said Luther Preisdent Jenifer K. Ward, "This forced detour gives our Luther Norse an opportunity to show how character is built and is lived out through being proud DIII students and coaches."

The conference now will focus on cross country, women's golf, and women's tennis this fall, as well as a discussion of the winter sports of women's and men's basketball, women's and men's indoor track and field, and wrestling.
