Decorah baseball head coach Adam Riley comments, "Any time you pitch and play good defense as a team, you have a chance to win." Tuesday night in Clear Lake, the Vikings got great pitching performances from Seth Shindelar, Cai Brevig and Keenan Tyler, propelling the Vikings to a 3-1 victory.
Clear Lake scored first, pushing across one run in the bottom of the 4th inning, but that was all the scoring they would do. The Vikings tied the game 1-1 in the top of the 5th, then pushed across two runs in the top of the 7th inning to take the 3-1 win.
Parker Hubka was the hitting star for the Vikings with a double and two RBIs. Brevig got the win with Tyler picking up the save.
The Vikings will begin postseason play at home Friday night, hosting Charles City. Decorah won both games of a doubleheader against Charles City earlier this month in Decorah.
