It was a close game Monday night between the Crestwood Cadets and the Decorah Viking softball teams in Cresco.
Decorah pitcher Emma Johnson and Crestwood pitcher Laken Liehard locked up in a well-pitched game, but it was a 4th inning triple by Crestwood's Olivia Ollendick which turned the tide and led Crestwood to a 3-0 victory.
Decorah had six base runners, but was unable to get the clutch hit with runners on base. Bryar Duwe and Isabel Ihde had the only hits for the Vikings.
Decorah is now 8-6 on the season, while Crestwood is 13-0. The Vikings will start post-season play on Saturday night in Decorah. The Vikings will host the winner of Thursday's game between Waverly-Shell Rock (4-10) and Mason City (8-12).
