The Decorah Viking boys basketball team lost 70-58 on Thursday night in the substate semifinal at Center Point-Urbana, ending the Vikings' year with a record of 18 wins and 5 losses.

Decorah jumped out to an 8-2 lead, but CPU came roaring back with a 17-2 run to go up 19-10 at the end of the first quarter.  CPU led 36-25 at halftime, but Decorah came out of the locker room hitting on all cylinders, closing the gap to 38-35 with just two minutes minutes into the second half.

Decorah would never be as close to CPU again.  Three pointers gradually built up a lead, forcing the Vikings to foul at the end of the game.  CPU hit their free throws and finished with the 12-point win.

Patrick Bockman had 20 points for the Vikings, while Logan Halverson had 19 points.

"This group has been a joy to coach and we will miss them immensely," said head coach Jonathon Carlson following the game.  "Although it hurts losing, this team has many accomplishments to be thankful for!  They set the bar and hopefully this is just the beginning," he added.
