Decorah Viking boys swim team finishes 15th at State Meet

The Decorah Viking boys swim team finished in the top half of teams at the State Swim Meet at the University of Iowa on Saturday.  The Vikings earned 35 points, good for 15th place out of 32 teams.

Leading the way for the Viking boys was the 200 yard Medley Relay team of Drew Chamberlain, Jackson Penny, Gus Grimstad and Cole Huebner, which earned 14 points by finishing in 10th place with a time of 1:38.86.

Grimstad then earned 11 points for the Vikings by finishing 8th in the 100 yard butterfly, with a time of 50.85 seconds.          

The 400 yard freestyle relay team of Cole Huebner, Bradyn Hook, Jackson Penny and Gus Grimstad finished in 3:19.39, which was good for 15th place and 4 points.
        
The Viking scoring finished with Gus Grimstad's 14th place finish in the 100 yard backstroke and Jackson Penny's 14th place finished in the 100 yard breakstroke--each of which earned 3 points for the Vikings.

Also swimming in the State Meet were Jackson Penny in the 200 yard individual medley, finishing 17th with a time of 1:58.98, and Drew Chamberlain in the 500 yard freestyle, finishing 23rd with a time of 4:57.84.
