The Decorah Viking girls basketball team ended its regular season on a high note on Friday night, beating Charles City, 44-33, at home.

The Vikings led by four points at halftime, but came on strong in the second half, scoring 21 points while holding the Comets to 14.  The result was an 11-point victory.

Emma Nierengarten had a strong game, scoring 15 points, while Abigail Milburn added 11 points and Bryar Duwe scored 8.

"This was a great win and a positive way to end regular season play," said head coach Shannon Quandahl.  She added, "We did some nice things offensively, as we are beginning to see the floor more and take advantage of defensive gaps."

The Vikings end their regular season with a record of 11 wins and 9 losses.  They will again play Charles City to open postseason tournament play, facing the Comets at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Rapids Xavier High School, with the winner of that game playing Xavier on Saturday.
