A late scoring burst by New Hampton led to a home loss Friday night by the Decorah Viking girls basketball team.

The Vikings trailed by just two points, 22-20, at halftime and were down by six at the end of the third quarter, 34-28.  New Hampton then outscored Decorah, 22-8, in the fourth quarter to give the victory to the Chickasaws.

"We got into foul trouble early, which prevented us from doing the things we wanted to do defensively," said head coach Shannon Quandahl.

Kylah Quandahl led to Vikings with 12 points, while Bryar Duwe added 10 points for the Vikings.  Four other Vikings also scored.

Decorah is now 4-6 in the NEIC, but 10-7 overall.  The Vikings will host Prairie Du Chien in a non-conference game on Tuesday night.
