Viking bowlers take care of North Iowa

Both the boys and girls Decorah Viking bowling teams earned victories Friday evening againast North Iowa at Buffalo Lanes in Buffalo Center.

The Viking boys improved to 6-3 on the season with a 2,853 to 2,083 victory.  Tyler Thompson with a 472 and Emmit Stemper with a 437 led the boys.  Kegan Einck bowled a 382; Brendan Hunter had a 366; Breydon Johnson had a 339 and Luke Iverson had a 334.

The boys junior varsity team also won, moving to 8-1 on the season.

Said head coach Keith Breuning, "It's been a fun run these past few eeeks.  We're getting ready to make a run in the next few weeks."

Meanwhile, the girls team went to 8-1 on the season with a 2,479 to 2,088 victory over North Iowa.  Katherine Bruening with a 382 and Audrey Casterton with a 354 led the Vikings.  The girls junior varsity team also won and went to 8-1.

Next up for the Vikings is Waverly on Friday.
