Decorah Viking boys head basketball coach Jonathon Carlson called Friday night's home game against New Hampton "a great night of fundraising and basketball for a good cause."

In addition to raising money for the Jared Rude family, the Viking boys basketball team turned in an impressive showing against the Chickasaws, winning 80-34.  Decorah scored 40 points in the first half--and 40 points in the second half, with nine of its players entering the scoring column, led by Andrew Magner and Matthew Franzen, who both scored 15 points.

Saturday at Luther College, the Vikings went up against #1-ranked Caledonia and lost, 83 to 55.

Decorah is now 3-3 overall and will resume competition at Waukon on Friday, January 3rd.
