The Crestwood Cadets girls basketball team has been enjoying a lot of success in recent years. The Cadets came to Decorah on Tuesday night and the Vikings played well on the defensive end, but fell short on offense. The result was Decorah's first loss of the year, a 57-34 decision won by Crestwood.
Decorah got off to a sluggish start in the first quarter, scoring just 8 points, but holding the Cadets to just 11 points. Crestwood started getting into rhythm in the second quarter and led 26-16 at halftime. But it was in the second half that the Cadets put away the game, leading 41-20 at the end of the third quarter, en route to the 23-point victory.
Bryar Duwe had 21 points for Decorah, but the rest of the team managed just 13 points combined.
The Vikings are now 4-1 on the season, but 0-1 in the NEIC. They will host Waverly-Shell Rock Friday night at 7:30.
