It all came down to the last seconds in Friday night's boys basketball game between Decorah and Western Dubuque in Epworth.  But Decorah's Matt Franzen was up to the challenge, hitting the game-winning 3-point field goal with 12 seconds remaining in the game.  Western Dubuque couldn't score on its possession, and the result was a 57-to-55 Viking victory.

Franzen had 26 points on the night, including seven 3-pointers.  Logan Halverson added 15 points, with five other Vikings also scoring.

Said head coach Jonathon Carlson, "I'm proud of our guys for being resilient after leading most of the game, then giving up the lead late, they showed some grit."

The boys basketball team will play next on Friday, traveling to Waverly to open Northeast Iowa Conference competition.
