It was a closely-fought game Tuesday night in Dubuque as the Decorah Viking boys basketball team took on Wahlert High School. The game was tied at 62-62 in the closing minutes, but Wahlert came out on top, 70-65.

"Our guys came out with a lot of desire in our first game, although we didn't get the desired outcome," said head coach Jonathon Carlson.

The Vikings had four players in double-digit scoring: Matthew Franzen led the Vikings with 17 points, while Logan Halverson added 13, Joe Bockman had 12 and Charlie Robinson added 10.

"We will take away many lessons from this game, improve and be ready on Saturday," said Carlson.

The Vikings will travel to Western Dubuque on December 7th.
