The 2019-2020 boys basketball season begins Tuesday for the Decorah Vikings, with reason for optimism for Decorah.

Seven letter winners from last year's team are returning this winter—six seniors (Patrick Bockman, Matthew Franzen, Logan Halverson, Andrew Magner, Keaton Solberg and Sam Robinson) and one junior (Charlie Robinson).

The Vikings will be strong at guard, where Bockman and Franzen last year both averaged around ten points per game.  Halverson led the Vikings in rebounding and will spend playing time at both forward and center.  Magner became a starter halfway through last season, while Sam Robinson and Charlie Robinson also did well last season.

The Vikings open at Dubuque Wahlert Tuesday night and visit Western Dubuque on Saturday.  Decorah will not play a home game until December 20th.
