Boys bowling team beats Denver to open its season

The Decorah Viking boys bowling squad beat Denver by more than 500 pins on Tuesday.

Traveling to Tripoli, the boys came back with a 2,740 to 2,218 victory over Denver.  Junior Tyler Thompson led the way with a 255 and a 203, with fellow junior Luke Iverson rolling a 205 and a 215.  Sophomore Brendan Hunter was 7 for 10 in the Baker Games.

The junior varsity also won, beating Denver 2,150 to 2,090.

Head Coach Keith Bruening said, "We have our work cut out for us, though.  We have to get better--and we will!"
