Northeastern Swim Team competes in Cedar Rapids

Joey Vobr earned 1st place in the 1000 free with a time of 12:28.74, and the 500 free in 6:04.05.

The Northeastern Swim Team of Decorah had success over the weekend at the Coe College Harvest Invitational in Cedar Rapids.

Swimmers with time drops included Braunwyn Darrington, Nat Roberts, Simon Kutz, Naomi Kutz, Rex LaFrentz, Mason Cote, Bently Hager, and Lauren Luzum.

Dane Burns took 1st place in the 10 & under 50 yard freestyle with a time of 31.55 and the 50 fly in 36.09. Jackson Leunenberger earned 1st place in 8 & under 25 free in 17.89 and 2nd place in the 100 IM in 1:55.45. Jasper LaFrentz completed the 8 & under 25 fly in 27.77 for 1st place. Sydney Thompson took 1st place in the 11-12 50 back in 33.79 and 3rd place in 50 free with 29.74. Jaylee Vobr took 6 1st place awards including the 11-12 200 free in 2:21.76, 200 IM in 2:38.69, and 100 free in 1:13.06. Joey Vobr earned 1st place in the 1000 free with a time of 12:28.74, and the 500 free in 6:04.05. Joey took 2nd in the 200 back in 2:35.73, and 3rd in the 200 free in 2:19.07. Cael LaFrentz earned 2nd place in the 11-12 50 free in 28.39, 200 free in 2:21.08, and the 50 fly in 34.94. Cael also took 1st place in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:19.33.  Andrew Heine swam the 100 fly in 1:01.32 and 200 fly in 2:29.69 for 2nd place and earned 3rd place in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:14.22. Weston Cote took 2nd place in the 10 & under 50 fly in 37.70, 100 fly in 1:28.69, and 200 free in 2:49.25. Payge Webb earned 2nd place in the 8 & under 25 free in 18.65 and 3rd in the 50 Back in 53.27.  Avalea Burns competed in the 11-12 100 breast, finishing in 1:23.29 for 3rd place. Dawson Irons completed in the 10 & under 50 free in 34.69 and 50 back in 41.17 for 3rd place. Ian Giddings swam the 11-12 50 back in 36.91, the 50 fly in 35.36, and, 50 free in 29.34 that earned 3rd place in all events.

The Northeastern Swim Team will compete this coming weekend at the Autumn Dash Invitational in River Falls, Wisconsin.
