Decorah girls cross country team finishes 9th at the State Meet

The conditions were cold and windy for the State cross country meet in Fort Dodge on Saturday, but the Decorah girls persevered to finish in 9th place out of 15 talented teams.

Decorah earned 240 points with an average time of 20:43, and a spread of 1:25.

Claiming 21st place was Decorah's first runner, freshman Rebecca Anderson, with a time of 19:50. Senior Britta Swanson crossed the finish line next for Decorah with a time of 20:49 (48th place). Right behind Swanson were seniors Annette Leschensky (20:50, 51st place) and Kalea Oftedahl(20:51, 53rd place). Next was senior Meg Sessions (21:16, 67th place), followed by junior Leila Johnson (21:42, 77th place), and junior Sam See (21:47, 78th place).
