Decorah boys cross country team brings home the gold

It was a beautiful night for a cross country meet on Tuesday in Calmar, and the Vikings did not disappoint. Decorah capitalized on the ideal conditions to win the South Winn Invite with 23 points -- 47 points ahead of 2nd place South Winn.

Decorah was led by junior Brady Hogan who toured the course in 16:29, earning him 1st place overall. Seniors Pat Bockman and Spencer Peterson placed 4th and 5th overall with times of 17:34 and 17:43 respectively. Sophomore Izaak Eichinger claimed 6th place with a time of 17:50, junior Noah Lovelace claimed 7th place with a time of 17:52, Senior Willem Hawley earned 8th place with a time of 17:52, and sophomore August Witt earned 10th place with a time of 17:57.
 
Head Coach Brad Johansen says, "We gave great effort today and are setting ourselves up for a great finish to our season."

The Vikings will travel to Charles City on Tuesday for the Conference meet.
