The Decorah Viking volleyball team defeated Oelwein 25-14, 25-12, 25-14 on Thursday night, improving to 2 wins and 3 losses in the NEIC.

But the evening was about much more than just the game.  It was the final home game for seven seniors on the squad and a chance for Ava Holland, Katie Bjergum, Brooke Berns, Amanda Kuehner, Ambria Pipho, Kaitlyn Schnitzler and Alexis Svestka to celebrate.

For Ambria Pipho, there was an additional reason to celebrate--she recorded her 1000th career assist during the game.  Late in the second set she received a pass from Emma Johnson that she set up for Brooke Berns to finish to record her 1,000th assist.

The seven seniors were recognized at the game and Ambria Pipho was also recognized for her achievement.

Decorah is now 9-12 overall and will take part in the Western Dubuque Tournament on Saturday, getting ready for the NEIC Tournament on Saturday, October 19th.
