Decorah girls cross country wins in Waukon

The Decorah girls cross country team dominated the 10-team Waukon Invitational Tuesday afternoon. Decorah finished in first place with 30 points, followed by Kee High with 60 points.

Due to the weather forecast, the JV and varsity squads ran together. Out of 159 runners, Decorah claimed 4th, 5th and 6th place with freshman Rebecca Anderson crossing the line in 21:38, junior Leila Johnson in 21:48, and senior Meg Sessions in 22:00. Rounding out the scoring for Decorah were seniors Annette Leschensky (9th place - 22:16) and Kalea Oftedahl (11th place - 22:28).

Decorah's top-ten runners will travel to the University of Minnesota on Saturday morning to run in the highly competetive Roy Griak Invitaional.
