Decorah sophomore football team improves to 2-2

Monday night the Decorah sophomore football team defeated the Crestwood Cadets 55-20 to improve their overall record to 2-2.

The Vikings were able to spread the ball around and score a variety of ways.  Quarterback Brody Young completed all seven of his pass attempts for a total of 133 yards and two touchdowns. Joe Bockman led the team receiving with 4 receptions for 79 yards and 1 touchdown. Bockman also had an 8 yard rushing touchdown. Dylan Muhlbauer had 12 rushes for 97 yards and a rushing touchdown. Jacob Pipho had a 28 yard receiving touchdown and a 71 yard rushing touchdown on the night as well.

Defensively, the Vikings provided a great team effort. Brody Young had an interception for a touchdown in addition to his five assisted tackles. Jacob Pipho had 4 solo and 6 assisted tackles in addition to a sack.  Joe Hjelle provided the team with 2 solo and 12 assisted tackles as well.

The sophomore football team will return to action Thursday night in Waverly to take the the GO-Hawks.
