The Decorah Viking baseball team had some good at-bats Monday night at home against Cedar Falls.  It was their fielding that was the issue, however, as five errors led to seven unearned runs for Cedar Falls, resulting in an 11-5 Decorah loss.

The Vikings had nine hits, with Drake Shelton, Cael Luzum and Ryan Schneberger each getting two hits.  They trailed 5-3 heading into the 6th inning, but gave up four unearned runs to put Cedar Falls solidly in control.

Jace Johnson pitched 4 innings, giving up four runs--two of them earned.  Cael Luzum pitched two innings, giving up five runs--none of them earned.

"While we didn't play as clean of defense as we would have liked, we had some great swings tonight to put ourselves in position to score some runs and even left a few runs out on the field," said head coach Adam Riley.

The Vikings are now 15-16 on the season.  They begin postseason play on Friday night, traveling to Cedar Rapids for a 5:00 p.m. game against Center Point-Urbana.
