Viking baseball team shut out by Waterloo West

Tuesday night was a night the Decorah Viking baseball team would probably like to forget.  The Vikings traveled to Waterloo to play West HS and were shut out in a game which went only five innings.

There wasn't much for the Vikings to be happy about--they had just four hits in the five innings before Waterloo West took a 10-0 lead and ended the game early.

Kailer McCabe had two of Decorah's four hits.  Seth Shindelar and Briggs Duwe also had hits.

Said head coach Adam Riley, "As a team we did not respond the way we would expect when challenged by another team.  We look forward to playing much better team baseball and finding ways to pick up teammates when things don't go perfectly."

Decorah will host West Delaware on Thursday night.
