The Decorah Viking softball team played in two dramatically different games against Waukon on Wednesday night, but, fortunately for the Vikings, both games produced victories.

Game one was a pitcher's duel, with Avery Shelton taking the mound for Decorah and the Vikings producing a 3-2 victory.  Game two was a slugfest as the Vikings scored 14 times en route to a 14-10 victory.

The doubleheader sweep allowed the Vikings to improve to 8 wins and 6 losses in the NEIC and 11 and 8 overall.

Decorah will travel to Waverly on Thursday night, then will host the Decorah Softball Tournament on Saturday.
