A team from Oneota Golf & Country Club finished first at the 18thannual Northeast Iowa Team Invitational Tournament on Friday at South Winn Golf and Country Club in Calmar.
Northeast Iowa golf clubs put together teams of eight players to participate inthe 18-hole event. Golfers represented Cresco, South Winn,Silvercrest, Silver Springs, Oneota, New Hampton, Tri City, and Waukon.
Scores of the top six players on each team were used for team scoring. The Oneota G&CC team shot a 450, with New Hampton second with a 469 and Tri-City and Cresco tying for third place with 475s. When handicaps were used, the adjusted scores put Jackson Junction first with a 438, followed by Tri-City with a 441, Silvercrest with a 443 and Oneota with a 450.
Individual scratch medalists were Todd Smith from Onoeta with a 70, Ryan Rausch from New Hampton, Scott Thompson from Cresco and Todd Neal from Silvercrest, all with 73s, and John Thompson from Cresco with a 74.This annual event rotates host locations.
