South Winneshiek pushed across a run in the bottom of the 6th inning Saturday at Calmar and the result was a 5-4 victory for the Warriors over Decorah.

Decorah's Kailer McCabe had a good night at the plate, batting in three runs.

The loss left Decorah with an overall record of 7 wins and 10 losses, but Head Coach Adam Riley liked his team's play: "Today's game was a very competitive baseball game between two very good baseball teams.  South Winn came up with several two out timely hits that ultimately was the difference in the end.  We are still very pleased with our overall effort at the varsity level to give us a chance to win ball games with great pitching efforts and sound defense that will still get better."

Decorah will host Charles City on Wednesday evening, then will travel to Waukon on Friday.
