The Decorah Viking baseball team turned in another good performance Monday night at home against Crestwood, winning, 8-4.

The Vikings rolled out to an 8-1 lead after five innings, with Cael Luzum driving in three runs and Briggs Duwe driving in two.  Some defensive lapses led to three Crestwood runs in the 6th inning, but the Vikings held on for the 8-4 victory.

Jace Johnson pitched six innings and gave up three earned runs, while Drake Shelton pitched a scoreless 7th inning.

Said Head Coach Adam Riley, "From the beginning of the game we had some very sound at bats in which we barreled up a lot of baseballs and in combination with sound base running created some really nice scoring opportunities throughout the evening."

The Vikings will travel to Oelwein Wednesday; will visit NEIC-leading New Hampton on Friday and will host South Winneshiek on Saturday
