Wednesday's game between the Decorah Vikings and Waterloo East featured good weather and good baseball.

The two teams had good pitching and good defense.  That meant the game was scoreless going into the bottom of the 6th inning.  Decorah's Jace Johnson had a hit to get on base and Cael Luzum drove in the only run of the evening to give pitcher Ryan Schneberger the shutout win, 1-0.

The Vikings had six hits, while Waterloo East had eight, but Schneberger struck out six and the Viking defense contributed several excellent plays to keep Waterloo East off the scoreboard.

Said head coach Adam Riley, "It was a very fun night to be at the ballpark as all 23 members of our team gave great energy to each other starting with Ryan Schneberger, who pitched a fabulous baseball game."
