Decorah boys tennis team falls to Waterloo Columbus in Sub State team competition

After finishing Saturday competition in third place as a team, the Decorah Viking boys tennis team took on Waterloo Columbus Monday in Sub State competition. 

Said head coach Reg Laursen, "The guys showed a lot of heart in how hard they competed, but Columbus is currently a little better than we are."  Laursen singled out Gabe Anderson, who won his first set, lost his second set, but was leading in the third set when Waterloo Columbus clinched the team victory.

Laursen concluded, "It has been a pleasure to work with this team this season.  The fan support has been great--thanks!  I especially want to thank my volunteer assistant coaches, Matt Anderson, Drew Pellett and Brett Wilker, who have really helped our program this season."

Aidan Hunter and Billy Lange will play as a doubles team May 24th and 25th at the State Tennis Tournament in Waterloo.
