It was a cold and windy afternoon Thursday for the Decorah Viking girls golf team, which hosted an 18-hole quadrangular meet at Oneota Golf and Country Club in Decorah.

The Viking girls shot a 381, which places them second to Sumner-Fredericksburg, which won the meet by shooting a 358.  "Sumner-Fredericksburg has a very strong team right now and their 358 was a great score under the conditions," said Viking head coach Scott Pierce.

Decorah was followed by Crestwood, which shot a 383, and Waukon, which had a 417.

Ann Meirick led the Vikings with a 42-46=88; Emma Fretheim shot a 47-48=95; Tori Hines carded a 49-50=99; Audrey Casterton- shot a 52-47=99; Olivia Fahey finished with 51-50=101; and Izzy Elwood shot a 61-62=123.

Decorah's second place showing improves the girls golf team's season record to 14-3.
