Decorah High School senior Carston Baumler has been selected to participate in the 2019 Iowa Shrine Bowl.
Baumler played tight end and defensive end for the Vikings, making 43 tackles on defense and scoring two touchdowns on offense and helping them to secure the 3A District #3 title. He received First-Team All-District honors in 2017 and 2018 and was named to the Coaches Association and Des Moines Register All-State Team 3rd Team.
Off the field, Carston is a member of Silver Cord and was an Academic All-District Team member with a 3.47 GPA. Baumler plans to earn a certificate for Construction Equipment Operator, CDLA, and Welding.

Carston is the son of Gary and Denise Baumler of Decorah.
