Day Two of the State Wrestling Tournament has been hard on Decorah wrestlers

Friday at the Class 2A State Wrestling Meet in Des Moines saw Decorah's three wrestlers struggle.
At 132 pounds, Jackson Rolfs lost a 9-1 major decision to Eric Faught , a seniorfrom Clear Lake whose overall record is now 36-0. The loss sent Rolfs into the consolation bracket. He next faced Gage Long from Ballard and lost a 10-7 decision.
At 182 pounds, Dawson Palmer lost by fall at 3:01 in his consolation bracket match to Luke Jenness of Sheldon/South O'Brien.
At 195 pounds, Andy Murphy won his consolation bracket match against Jordan Bries of West Delaware by a 7-2 decision, staying alive in the tournament. Murphy then faced Thomas Bentley of Red Oak and lost by fall at 0:43. As a result, Murphy will wrestle for 7th place in the weight class on Saturday, facing Joel Osborn, a senior from Humbolt whose record is 39-10.
