Decorah girls bowling team ends season 5-5 with a loss to Forest City

The Decorah girls bowling team traveled to Forest City on Tuesday and lost by 119 pins. Final scores were Forest City 2,535-Decorah 2,416.

Audrey Casterton led the team with a 342, Katherine Bruening had a 323, Moriah Grinna had a 320, Lexie Hauber had a 319, and Maddie Putnam had a 312.

"The girls bowled close to as good as we can. A 2,416 isn't too bad, Forest City just beat us. I'm very happy with our scores! We finish the regular season at 5-5. Some days your best just isn't good enough. Forest City bowled 300 pins over their average. I'm awfully happy with our kids!" praised head coach Keith Bruening.

The jv girls won 1962-1659. Leaders were Annika Lensch with a 294, and Kaitlyn Christensen with a 280.

Individual conference for bowling will be Saturday at Maple Lanes Bowling Center in Oelwein.
Bowling districts will be on Tuesday at Oneota Lanes at 12:00 p.m.
