Girls bowling team beats North Iowa by over 500 pins

The Decorah girls bowling team hosted North Iowa on Friday night and put on a good match, winning by 551 pins. Final score was 2,263-1,712. The girls were led by Maddie Putnam who bowled a 343,  Audrey Casterton had a 330, Lexie Hauber had a 326, Katherine Bruening bowled a 318, and Ann Meirick had a 289. The girls' record is now 5-3.

"It was a pretty solid night by all the girls. Putnam and Bruening were solid in the baker games. You have to be happy with the win, scoring 2,263. We're coming along fine. Our best is yet to come. We have a big week coming up with Forest City and Waverly," said head coach Keith Bruening.

The JV girls won by forfeit and bowled a 2,025. Moriah Grinna 347 and Annika Lensch 288 led the way.

On Tuesday the girls will travel to Forest City to compete at the Super Bowl bowling alley at 4:00 p.m.

The JV girls will have a match on Thursday at Oneota Lanes at 4:00 p.m against Waukon.
