The Decorah girls bowling team traveled to Charles City on Friday and found some tough competition from the Comets.

"Maddie Putnam (342) and Lexie Hauber (298) led the way. Our girls have so much potential, but just aren't getting it done. So many lost opportunities. We're getting better, we still have a ways to go before tournament time. I give Charles City credit, they are a very, very good team," said head coach Keith Bruening.

Other Viking varsity girl bowlers were Alexis Svestka (285), Audrey Casterton (273), and Ann Meirick (263). Final score was Charles City 2,805 to Decorah 2,144.

The jv girls bowling team won in a tight match against Charles City with a final score of 1,887 to 1,827. Moriah Grinna (300) and Annika Lensch (273) led the way.

Next up for the Vikings is a home match against Tripoli on Friday.
