The Decorah Viking boys basketball team used a fourth quarter surge to dispose of South Winneshiek in Calmar Thursday night.

The Warriors were a strong opponent for the Vikings, leading by one point at halftime and hanging around for much of the second half.  "Our guys persevered through some adversity and did the things we needed to do in the end to be successful," said head coach Jonathon Carlson.

Decorah had four players in double-digit scoring: Logan Halverson with 17, Pat Bockman with 14, Matt Franzen with 11 and Andrew Magner with 10.  The Vikings sank four 3-pointers and were 8 of 12 on free throws.

""We are still striving for our best four quarters, as we need to continue to work on small details," said Carlson.  Decorah will travel to Cresco Crestwood next Tuesday night and to Charles City Friday night.  The Vikings are now 3-1 in the Northeast Iowa Conference and 4-4 overall.
