The Decorah Viking boys basketball team got off to a slow start Tuesday night at home and wound up losing to Dubuque Wahlert, 74-50.

The Vikings trailed 18-10 after the first quarter and 35-22 at halftime.  Wahlert expanded their lead to 19 points at the end of the third quarter before closing out with a 24-point lead.

Decorah was led by Keaton Solberg with 15 points and Matt Franzen with 10 points.

"Our guys fought hard, but we need to start trusting each other," said head coach Jonathon Carlson.  "Give Wahlert credit--they were a good team," he added.

The Vikings head to Waverly on Friday night to begin Northeast Iowa Conference play.
