The Luther College coaching staff has been named the Division III North Region Staff of the Year.
Luther's coaches will be recognized at the College Coaches Awards Reception on January 10th at the United Soccer Coaches Convention in Chicago.
In addition, they will be placed on the United Soccer Coaches ballot for Division III National Staff of the Year consideration.
Head Coach Chris Garcia-Prats and his staff led the Norse to their best overall season record (19-4-1) during his 11 years at the helm of the program. His career record is now 137-66-23. The Norse qualified for the NCAA III National Tournament for the ninth time in school history after capturing the American Rivers Conference Tournament championship for the eighth time in school history and second time in the past three years. Luther advanced to the quarterfinals of the national tournament for the first time in Garcia-Prats' tenure, before being eliminated by the University of Chicago 1-0 in overtime. Luther's quarterfinal appearance was the third in school history (1996, 2001, 2018).
Earlier the Luther coaching staff was named the American Rivers Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.
